Frederick Wilfrid (Wilf) Lancaster (September 4, 1933 - August 25, 2013) was a British-American information scientist. The first application of recall and precision measures was applied by Frederick Wilfrid (Wilf) Lancaster in the evaluation of the MEDLARS in 1966 and 1967. The concept of "Paperless society" originated by Frederick Wilfrid Lancaster in 1978.
