NKC: National Knowledge Commission

National Knowledge Commission (NKC) is a high-level advisory body to the Prime Minister of India constituted on 13 June 2005, by the Prime Minister of India, Dr. Manmohan Singh, with the objective of transforming India into a knowledge society. The NKC consists of 8 members with Satyanarayan Gangaram Pitroda as the Chairman. The title document of National Knowledge Commission on Libraries’ is “Libraries: Gateways to Knowledge”.
